I'll perform for you on any other day- it's how I learned to survive, & after DECADES of performance, I've gotten pretty d*mn good at it... but I made the personal decision that I refuse to perform on this day for the rest of my life- this is the ONE DAY where NOBODY is going to SILENCE MY VOICE- I KNOW my REALITY & all the GASLIGHTING in the UNIVERSE will NEVER make me forget all the times I was hit, kicked or strangled. But guess what? I TRANSFORMED from a petrified little kid -constantly silenced- into a POWERFUL VOICE that VALIDATES the stories of anybody who has ever picked themselves off a floor to stand- maybe with compression bandages- maybe with a cane- but STILL STANDING when anyone who would attempt to silence me is IN THE GRAVE so TO THE ABUSERS: REMEMBER that the one you are ABUSING today might turn into the one signing the papers to pull the plug down the road... if simple human decency doesn't prevent you from treating others atrociously then perhaps behaving in your own self interest (as every "charming" narcissistic abuser does) will dissuade you. LADIES: if you have one of these "Prince Charming" types in your life & nobody BELIEVES you when you SAY WHAT HAPPENS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS & THERE IS NO "AUDIENCE" PRESENT- I BELIEVE YOU!!! YOU ARE NOT "CRAZY" & YOU DIDN'T IMAGINE IT- YOU WILL SURVIVE THIS BECAUSE YOU MUST, IF ONLY TO SHINE A LIGHT FOR OTHERS WHO NEED TO SEE THAT THEY, TOO, CAN SURVIVE. SO DUST YOURSELF OFF & RISE UP- LET THE NEXT GENERATION SEE WHAT A POWERFUL WOMAN LOOKS LIKE✊🏻 #Solidarity (and yes, I realize men are abused as well- I do have a brother but he can tell his own stories- I speak MY TRUTH & what I KNOW but I hear you gentlemen as well when you SPEAK UP🗣️) #FathersDay
